The modernisation and improvements to Block A and Block B enhances the function of classrooms and the flow of students between them. This project offers a new cultural hub for the creative industry students at the TAFE TI Campus. This proposal refers to the modernisation of existing internal and external areas with Block A (External covered area and main corridor) and Block B (Screen printing room, Store room, Lecture/Drawing room and external covered area) of Thursday Island TNQIT facility.
The concept design finishes was influenced by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders art and prominent colours. A wall mural by a local artist as depicted above is a significant element in the screen printing room modernisation.
