Sunnyside House

This off the grid, barn style house offers a family retreat in Ravenshoe, Pioneer Park. With distant neighbours and picturesque views this home is robust, compact and designed for generations to come.  A house designed for entertaining family and friends with emphasis on the kitchen and living areas both internal and external.

In our early briefing meetings, clients had a clear vision of the siting and the houses orientation having lived in a ‘shed’ on the property adjacent for some years whilst planning the retreat.  With sustainability a key priority a specialist electrical and hydraulic consultant were engaged as part of the team to coordinate services. Three fire places were incorporated into the master bedroom and internal and external living areas to allow for use during the cooler months on the Tablelands.

The house is designed in pods where the kitchen living and dining are a central spine linked to the double garage and store/services areas. The children’s  and parent wings are designed from the strap spine allowing covered spaces between that accommodate an informal outdoor seating area where they spend a lot of time entertaining.
