20 Richards Street, Mooloolaba

This social housing project provides 20 contemporary beach style apartments in the picturesque location of Mooloolaba, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. JMc Architects was engaged as the principal consultant for all stages, from schematic design through to practical completion.

The schematic design stage involved value-added collaboration with the client and a variety of stakeholders. This process ultimately produced plans that provided an additional five units to the project brief.

The site is surrounded by residential housing and units, so the juxtaposition of internal spaces and fenestrations, screens and sunshades were carefully considered in order to maintain a high level of amenity to the neighbouring sites, as well as future occupants.

The project scope involved the design and documentation of 20 one-bedroom apartments for a traditional procurement model. Building contractors Murphy Builders brought an outstanding level of professionalism in their delivery of this high quality product for the client.
