17/02/2020Experienced Graduate Architect/ArchitectFull time (Part- time for the right person)JMC Architects is an awarded Cairns based practice with a focus on sustainable, high quality design outcomes.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced architect with proven design and documentation skills as well as a strong attention to detail.  The ability to work as part of a small architectural design team on various projects of all scales is essential to assist company growth.Responsibilities:Work closely with project teams, clients and their stakeholders. Produce documentation and construction detailing in Revit (AutoCAD advantageous)Specifications and schedule compilation.Project programmingReview and coordination of consultant documentation for Principal Consultancy roles.Provide construction detailing solutions.Key Requirements:Registered in QLD and/or minimum 3-5 years’ post-graduation experience.Ability to work independently and as a member of a small architectural team delivering to deadlines on multiple projects.A strong understanding of Revit modelling. (AutoCAD experience advantageous)Knowledge of other programs Microsoft Word/Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Lumion. Kubirri Aged Care Plus Centre - Construction Commences

Kubirri Aged Care Plus Centre for The Salvation Army. The JMC Architects team have successfully completed the construction documentation for one of our largest and most significant community-based projects. We are delighted and so are 'the Golden Girls' (Mossman District Nursing Home Committee) and the Douglas Shire Councillors and Mayor, Julia Leu that works commenced on site last week with the successful contractor. The newly built center is scheduled to open in late 2020 and will provide a high-quality living environment in keeping with the special needs of older people. The principal theme underlying Kubirri Aged Care plus Centre is a " Home in a Garden" setting, providing a comfortable and soothing environment for residents. The centre leads the way with environmentally sustainable design and the planning is considered and respectful to its surrounding rural and farming community. We will keep you posted with construction diary updates in the months to come.

Hon Curtis Pitt recognises local architect involvement in Gordonvale Police Station

Construction of Gordonvale's new $4.5 million Police Station is due for completion this month. The new station at Draper Rd provides officers direct access to the Bruce Highway in both directions, enabling faster response times. This beautiful new building was designed by local Cairns firm, JMC Architects and has supported close to 100 construction jobs. Our hardworking Police Officers will continue to monitor the CBD and Norman Park, with regular patrols in the area.

Trinity Beach State School – Tropical North Learning Academy – TBSS Official Opening, Friday 8th September 2017. The Senior Learning Centre received the 2017 Project of the Year QMBA FNQ Regional Award.

Northern Regions Architects Awards 2017

FNQ and NQ AIA regional members celebrated a combined awards evening at the Pullman Cairns International. JMc Architects received a Regional Commendation and People’s Choice Awards for O’Shea House, Machans Beach.
